dear americans...

During your celebration of death, take a min to remember these words.
"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that" - Martin Luther King, Jr

and evil can not drive out evil, only good can do that.

lolz, something that has nothing to do with the topic but takes something from it and focuses on something else entirely different http://www.religioustolerance.org/culeins.htm

Question:

Were Martin Luther King, Gandhi, Albert Schweitzer, etc., right? Namely, that nonviolence and peaceful mobilization is the correct path to change?

History says otherwise.

There may be a few exceptions here and there, but revolution emerges from the barrel of a gun, as Chairman Mao liked to point out. Vested interests resist change, and resort to force to protect privilege and power. Real change historically follows the use or threat of force.

The paradox confronting the pacifist is this: dying a useless death is not the worst that can happen. The worst that can happen is all the good people are killed, leaving only bad people to rule.

What's the answer?

PS: I've been a pacifist all my long life. As I get older though, and observe what appears to be nature's Darwinian design, I feel a bit like King Canute. I have no good answers to the question I raise above. If anyone else does, I'd love to hear them.

I bet the percentage of innocent children dieing in this war compared to the 9/11 attacks ate 99 to 1.

Re: Bin Laden assassination

This is something which seems rather obvious: Pakistan and America must have orchestrated the entire affair as a PR extravaganza. This military exercise, the logistics, the intel, the myriad possibilities of things going wrong if the Paks didn't know about it in advance, etc., makes it almost certain this was a joint USA/Pakistan event. Pakistan merely wants plausible denial, so it doesn't make its own unhappy fundies so angry they retaliate. The whole thing was staged, in pretty much the way Dick Cheney goes hunting. First peons cage a bunch of animals in one spot. Then Dick Cheney comes in with a double barrel shotgut and blows them to smithereens. That's the American Madison Avenue Way.

The entire affair is a PR extravaganza for Obama, perhaps intended to kick off his re-election campaign. The Pakistanis set it up, provided America with a script and gritty film noir set, and America's psycho clowns, the Seals, came in on cue, with cameras rolling.

Why was Bin Laden killed, unarmed, in front of his family? Again, the answer should be obvious. America *had* to kill Bin Laden, because it could never afford to have him alive, and talking-- after all, Bin Laden probably wasn't even the one responsible for 9-11*, which is the excuse America used to attack The Middle East and start WWIII.

Made-for-tv assassination . . . a new American innovation in reality television.

Osama had Pakistan support - UK leader
From: AAP
May 04, 2011 2:42AM BRITISH Prime Minister David Cameron says Osama bin Laden must have had an "extensive" support network in Pakistan in the years before his death.

* To anyone who thinks doubting that Bin Laden was responsible for 9-11 is just another nutty conspiracy theory, I suggest considering the evidence, which is contradictory. After all, just because America says something doesn't make it so (Saddam's wmd, claiming women, children and wedding parties are 'insurgents', Ghadafi giving viagra to troops to rape rebel's wives & daughters, etc., etc.). When the government says it can't release 'evidence' because it's classified, the government is probably lying or covering something up. After all, whenever it suits the gov's purpose, dirt gets 'leaked' faster than a speeding bullet, regardless of security classification.
